Diving and snorkeling activities are the main reason for the visits
to the Apo Island. Around the island there are eleven dive sites:
(1)Coconut, (2)Olo Point, (3)Cogon, (4)Mamsa, (5)Kan-uran, (6)Sanctuary
- clownfish city and school of jack fish, (7)Rock Point, (8)Katipanan,
(9)Chapel, (10)Baluarte - infront of Apo Island Resort, (11)Largahan
Apo
Island have an inhouse diveshop and rent out equipments. Both
are located in the island. On daily basis there are a lot of dive
boats from adjacent provinces that comes to Apo Island for diving.
The
diving is very good here because there are so many big fish compared
to other dive sites. You can expect to see species of fishes like:
Trevally, Jacks, Barracuda, Bumpheaded parrotfish, turtles, seasnakes,
garden eels and loads of small stuff. All dive sites are around
the island.
A
boatride is all you need and you are ready to jump in. The price
per dive is reasonable. Part of the money will go to marine protection
work. And the more you dive the cheaper it is per dive. So dive
as much as you want to avail big discounts. You could bring your
own gear if you have.
